Central Connection

To cut a circle, I need a center. But where is it?

I looked in my studio and only found pieces of paper scattered everywhere. No center.

I looked at my phone and saw an endless stream of disconnected sound bites. No center.

Out into the night, I went in search. And there it was, right in front of me. A circle inside a flower. A center.

>Not one but many. A lot of flowers and a lot of centers. Then I saw the stem. A center for all the flowers.

The moon caught my gaze. Ah, yes, another center.

Everything had one, well, except for the mountains. What would their center be? That’s when I began to fall. Like quicksand, my feet feel further and further down. Deep down. Eventually ending up at another center. The Earth’s core.

Its fiery core made me feel warm, radiant, and alive. I took a deep breath in and back up I went. All the way up into the night. This time with something new. I had a center too. Right inside my chest.

All around me were centers. Each is connected to the core of the Earth. Those in turn connected to the center of the sun. The sun, in turn, is connected to something cosmic.

Once aligned, even the night becomes bright.
